And I’ll probably say this a thousand more times, account/strategic whatever you want to call it planning is by far the coolest department within an agency.
Yeah yeah creatives, you’re creative, and I respect that. YET I can’t be part of your department due to the rules and regulations.
Media, well it can be creative, but not enough and more of crunching numbers and people always assuming you’re good at math (IT’S A RUMOR most media planners are just average at math like you sir/lady).
Account management you have to be able to juggle flaming torches with a smile. It’s all about the act and entertaining the client - I wasn’t really cut out for that sort of thing.
Planing, that’s where it’s at. I get to consume so much information I don’t even know what to do with myself. I love it. I’m always learning, always onto the next thing-trend-food-style-blog-movement…..always moving. Always thinking. Always relating that one thing I saw 3 weeks ago to my new assignment. Always aware of my surrounds. Pulling, fitting, telling the story just right that everyone and their mother wouldn’t second guess you.
This is it. I’ve found it. Planning, I love you.
